VIRGINIA EVENTING AND DRESSAGE
Club Sports Team
ABOUT US
The Virginia Eventing and Dressage Team (VEDT) is a CIO Club Sport at the Unverisity of Virginia. VEDT is an organization where undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to excel as riders in the equestrian sports of eventing and dressage through participation in USEA sanctioned events and Inder and may participate in recognized and schooling competitions. The team is a great way to continue to ride throughout college while competing and forming lifelong friendships. Team members have the opportunity to train, fundraise, compete, and socialize together throughout the year.
Our event riders represent VEDT at College Challenges each semester at recognized horse trials and were Champions at the College Challenge at the Virginia Horse Trials in both 2013 and 2014! Our dressage riders represent VEDT in the Intercollegiate Dressage Association and we compete against Virginia Tech, Wake Forest University, Appalchain State University, Emory & Henry College, and Radford University.
VEDT's coach Mimi Combs and team members help each rider form an individual plan to attain their goals for training and competing in schooling and/or licensed dressage shows, combined training, and horse trials. The team has monthly off-horse meetings, mounted training sessions, clinics with outside trainers, and fundraising events.
Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University.
